Dye-coated glass to channel energy into solar cells
It’s reported that some MIT engineers have come up with an effective way of collecting sunlight with dye-coated glass into solar cells mounted on glass edges. This is revolutionary in several ways. Firstly, it’s much cheaper than the conventional solar cells. Secondly, it could be used on almost all buildings without affecting the appearance or views. Thirdly, if a coating machine is developed, many buildings’ glass windows can be converted to solar power generators without replacing the glass.
